Here's the Hotel Montana from the outside.
Before heading on my way I stopped into a nearby antique shop to see if there was anything interesting to buy. I started chatting with an older man there who spoke of how lonely and boring it could get in the little town. The most "exciting" event they held during the year was the annual Labor Day sheep run, where the sheep farmers would run the herds down the main street. I told him where I was from and we compared pros and cons of small town vs. city life.

"When I get really bored", he said, "I just go out and pop me some prairie dogs."

These little buggers are just about the cutest things you could ever imagine. They make cute barking noises as they stand guard in their burrows, and they kiss and hug each other in greeting. . How could anyone think to shoot one of them? (Sorry, my city-bred sentimentality is showing. :)
