With the dramatic scenery all around; the only sound being the constant wind, we could not help but pause in reverence and sit down to gaze in silence. The sun in the thin air was so bright it created an atmospheric effect, making the surrounding mountains appear to fade into the horizon. It was a very spiritual place to be. While we were taking all of this in, a mother mountain goat led her kid onto the trail to graze.
Eventually, I decided to move on, walking up the hill and around the goats on the path (as I'd read in the newspaper the day before that they will sometimes attack humans who get too close)...and I didn't want to take any chances with a mother goat and young (like what almost happened with this hiker: Closeup shots of Glacier Mountain Goats)
