Logan Pass -- el. 6646 ft.
The Logan Pass visitor area is at the summit of Going To The Sun, where visitors can stop and hike mountain trails along the Continental Divide. This is a popular destination for the tourists on weekends, but I arrived here on a Tuesday afternoon when it wasn't too crowded.
Fact about the name of the park: it is not named for glaciers, but "...glaciated landscape, an awe-inspiring mix of deep glacial valleys, high bowl-shaped cirques, and sharply pointed peaks called horns, carved from sedimentary rocks laid down in an ancient ocean." -- Cindy Nielsen, "Glacier, The Continuing Story"
