April 19, 2005: I woke up early, to the sound of the rushing Oak Creek near my campsite (left). There was a place to get breakfast nearby, and the nice lady at the Junipine Resort let me use their Wi-Fi in the lobby. She gave me a photocopied map of some of the trails in the area, so I decided to try hiking a couple of them. The photo at right is the trailhead near Grasshopper Point.

A portion of this trail follows along the boulder-scattered creek bed, with the placement of numerous uprooted dead trees indicating it's not always as peaceful as what we see here.
