I took a detour at Route 53, which was supposed to be more scenic than the western stretch of I-40. This goes through Zuni tribal territory. Here's another tribal town, showing the traditional adobe ovens that some people still use today.

Another beautiful mesa. The difference between New Mexico and Arizona must be the weather. As soon as I neared the Arizona border, the skies started clearing up.
